Segments (PIPING_NETWORK_SEGMENT) are not tagged items and shouldn't be treated as such. Segments must be treated as a topology so isometrics can be easily checked. There are a few rules that need to be implemented for segments to aggregate efficiently.
All segments that belong to a pipeline on a P&ID need to be automatically linked in aggregation to the EDM (Engineering Data Manager) pipeline using the PIPELINE_HAS_SEGMENT relationship.
Isometrics need to be associated to P&ID segments. The only way to do this is visually by selecting the isometric components and relating to segments in the P&ID(s) (Not pipelines).
In some cases, the isometric might have some tagged components so the segment can be related to the isometric automatically or at least assist in the visual aggregation process.
