Excel Acquisition Jobs Should Be Queued in PS5 Interface.
In the current PlantSight PS5 interface, Excel-based acquisition jobs are skipped if they exceed one hour in processing time. This behavior leads to missed imports and inconsistent data acquisition, especially for large or multiclass Excel files.
Jobs that take longer than one hour are not queued or retried—they are simply skipped.
This results in incomplete data ingestion and forces manual intervention.
The PS5 interface lacks visibility or control over job queuing and execution status.
Request from users
Introduce a queuing mechanism for Excel acquisition jobs in PS5.
Ensure that long-running jobs are queued and processed sequentially, rather than being skipped.
Provide job status feedback (e.g., pending, running, completed, failed) in the UI or via email.
Optionally, allow users to prioritize or cancel queued jobs.
Business impact
Prevents data loss from skipped jobs.
Improves reliability and transparency of data acquisition.
Reduces manual rework and support overhead.
